The Quality Improvement and Infection Control Department at Al-Ahly Hospital organizes a celebration on the occasion of the International Hand Hygiene Day, which comes this year under the slogan:"Let's unite for safety - clean your hands."


This year's theme focuses on recognizing that we can maximize the culture or climate of safety and quality in health institutions by cleaning our hands, and this activity aims to recognize the importance of health care providers at all levels, working together to influence the prevailing culture or climate through knowledge and behavior related to hand hygiene, in order to achieve the common goal of safety and quality in healthcare institutions.


Al-Ahly Hospital has involved all clinical departments, in addition to the leadership and management course students from Al-Quds University, who contributed to making posters related to World Hand Hygiene Day.


The event was opened by the Director General of the hospital, Dr. Youssef Al-Takruri welcomed the guests and participants, then the audience passed by each station; Where infection control representatives in each department worked to establish a display station for models, illustrations and alcohol solution to sterilize hands, and in each station,


an explanation and awareness raising about the five moments of cleaning hands and the comparison between washing hands with soap and water and sterilizing with alcohol solutions, how to wear personal condoms and their relationship was also shown. Sterilization of hands in addition to methods of dealing with body fluids and sterilization of hands.


In the end, Mr. Murad Amro - Supervisor of Quality and Infection Control in the hospital - and the procurement company represented by Mr. Mohamed Amr honored all the participants from the infection control officers, the nursing office, Al-Ahly College of Nursing and Al-Quds University students, and highly valued the role of the procurement company for the gifts they presented to the participants.
